But why does that matter besides making buff food? Correct me if I'm wrong but I really don't see any other reason to spend time maxing professions in FFXIV. Crafting in the game is fun and unique, so well thought out. ![]() The only rewards worth grabbing from PvP is cool-looking gear which admittedly I am a sucker for, but that's literally it. ![]() Awful experience and the combat system, even with shorter GCDs, does not mesh well with it in my opinion. Oh, and FFXIV PvP is absolutely terrible. From what I can tell, the ultimate endgame is 10-man Savage raid of just a couple of challenging bosses with unique mechanics, which sure is nice but the aesthetic of the large-scale raids that WoW offers is what I'm mostly after. I want large-scale raids similar to WoW, which FFXIV kinda has. The storywriting is fantastic but ultimately that's not what I'm here for. I think the overall idea of FFXIV's progression and itemization is fantastic and love that it respects your time unlike every other MMO. I did enjoy GW2 and did make my favorite legendary, H.O.P.E., but it's been over 5 years since I've played and have no idea if its worth coming back to, no clue how the population is, or if the content is good.įFXIV: never experienced Savage raids/trials since I never got to max level, but did get several jobs to 60+ and enjoyed tanking. When I mention WoW below, I'm talking classic (which includes TBC). ![]() None of them fill the void in me that desires "the perfect MMO". I've played GW2, classic WoW, OSRS, and FFXIV each with several hundred hours.
